Plans are wasted; but planning is everything. And in a troubled world where we are paying more but getting less, we are pissed. But the real problem is we are lying hypocrites. We feel entitled. We pray on Sunday morning then rage on the road driving home. And United Airlines and Wells Fargo merely did unto us what we do unto others…

I don’t know how my father learned how to be the boss in starting and running his little chainsaw factory that, at times when contracts were due, employed a hundred men and women in those post-war labor-intensive days. Perhaps it … Continue reading

As you get older it’s harder to have heroes, but it is sort of necessary… I guess. But just because I ‘accidentally’ saved the chief’s life, shouldn’t have made me his hero. And then he offered me his daughter. Oy-vey! Heroes don’t get wives, they get all duh women… don’t they? Sooo, what is a hero?

One time, a lot of years back, in West Africa, after a rather raucous conflict that involved shooting people who were spraying bullets and other harmful objects our way, a tribal chief tried to reward me with one of his … Continue reading

Society needs to condemn more and forgive less – after all, gratitude is ephemeral. Sins cannot be undone, only forgiven. And right now I am willing to forgive – about 5 minutes after I hang Roof’s pathetic butt. For it’s easier to forgive an enemy – after you’ve gotten even. Then there is that Jewish parable…

I didn’t go to church and pray last Sunday. It would have been hypocritical of me. Then again many people don’t tell G-d the truth. That is, we want one thing while dutifully praying for something we think is piously … Continue reading

Thank heaven for little girls, they grow up in the most delightful ways… And now look at Mo’ne… And at the rest of us embracing the simple life… again. So Keep It Simple, Stupid!

What I love about the Little League World Series and its darling, Mo’ne, is that most of us don’t seem to notice or care that ‘she’ is black. And ain’t that just splendid. Because once again a beautiful, very young, … Continue reading

To succeed in the world it is not enough to be stoopid, you must also be well-mannered. And in Israel, in order to be a realist you must believe in miracles. So, how many more sons must die before the Israelis and Palestinians realize nobody wants them — and that’s why they should want each other.

I have buried a younger brother. And scores of friends and relatives. A father. Numerous enemies. And lots of secrets. And undoubtedly the sad day will all-too-soon arrive to bury my fragile younger son who miraculously has reached the age … Continue reading

I am free of all prejudices. I hate everyone equally… even equal parts of myself. The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference. You could literally be perfect and people would still hate you, for being perfect. And this is going to be a perfectly terrible Mother’s Day in Nigeria. And where is our outrage?!

Last week many of the good folks of the U-S-of-A, with a collective IQ lower than the wattage produced by a gerbil spinning its running-wheel, were outraged… Outraged!… about an NBA basketball owner referring to black people as black people. … Continue reading

Nothing packs up and skips town faster than the Xmas spirit. And nothing brings people together quicker than mutual hatred. And when it comes to the Boston Marathon bomber we all are gluttons for vicious ways to diabolically punish this demon…

I used to think that movies vividly illustrating savage vengeance – such as hacking a genocidal bounty hunter‘s thumbs off; or staking a wicked desperado naked to the desert floor with molasses spread over his genitals; or nail-gunning the grinning … Continue reading
