There’s only two people you should lie to — the police and your girlfriend… When you have officers abusing citizens it makes the job of good cops unsafe. Most middle-class whites have no idea what it feels like to be subjected to police who are routinely suspicious, rude, belligerent, and brutal. But I do. And so did Sandra Bland…

It was my third day in prison. And I finally asked a guard where I could shower. I had been in a stupor. Where the hell was I? How did I get here? What the heck did I do to … Continue reading

The greatest threat to freedom is the absence of criticism… But the trouble with most of us is that we would rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism. So to avoid criticism, do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing. And then there was the cop who came into the cigar shop… complaining…

Thank heaven for little girls, they grow up in the most delightful ways… And now look at Mo’ne… And at the rest of us embracing the simple life… again. So Keep It Simple, Stupid!

What I love about the Little League World Series and its darling, Mo’ne, is that most of us don’t seem to notice or care that ‘she’ is black. And ain’t that just splendid. Because once again a beautiful, very young, … Continue reading
