Sometimes something happens that makes you realize the human race is not as bad as it seems. Then again, drinking makes such fools of people, and people are such fools to begin with that it’s compounding a felony. Hmm… And, as my pastor espoused: ‘We may have a new President, but we’ve still got the same old G-d.’ So ‘drink’ for me – I’ll be the only Trump guy at the family Thanksgiving table…

The advertisement boomed from the radio almost as a brief respite from all the blaring news about the cries-of-duh-unfittest protesting Trump’s election… and petitioning the Electoral College not to cast their votes for him in December. The radio ad, promoting … Continue reading

Will somebody please inform me who is in charge these days? Because I’m ready to follow Joan of Arc. At least women and children seem to accept that uncertainty is part of the taking charge process. At a party the other afternoon at a friend’s big stone house in an arriviste Philadelphia suburb, one of the impudent tykes, with an overstuffed mouth, popped an imposing question. The dour youth — undoubtedly a future Wall Street ‘perp’ … Continue reading

Everybody’s got an excuse for failure. Have you noticed that success doesn’t need one? What used to be a sin is now an array of diseases. Then I met a woman who blamed her ADHD for everything….until I gave her a hundred bucks…

This story ends with me offering this chesty, young woman, who pulled up a barstool to sit next to me, one hundred dollars. It was almost 2 in the morning, when no one is ugly. We weren’t exactly negotiating. Hmm… … Continue reading
