It’s been no secret for centuries that ‘the rich get divorced, and the poor get ethics.’ In other words, the law and opportunities aren’t the same for everybody. Indeed there is larceny in all our hearts. But some hearts steal more. And the rest of us get a lot less…

The other day at the Twin Smoke Shoppe in South Philly where I puff cigars daily, Ralph got to talking about the time years back he used the $100 ‘given’ him to get poked with a prostitute… and instead bought … Continue reading

Never let your sense of morals get in the way of doing what’s right. No doubt why there are no morals in politics – only expediency. But a lack of honor in government poisons us all. Which brings us to a stolen phone, a snatched donut and Louie-duh-lawyer forgetting the law is reason – free from passion.

Louie-duh-lawyer was aggravated… again. I should say: As always. Man just can’t seem to find peace and contentment. Not to mention a little happiness – even though he can quote Abraham Lincoln who exhorted: ‘You’re only as happy as you … Continue reading

In the movie, “The Wild Ones,” Marlon Brando, the motorcycle gang chief, is asked: What are you protesting? And while offering menacing leers about the store the muscular, leather-jacketed behemoth replies: “I don’t know, whaddaya got?” Today whats we gots … Continue reading

It’s not my country anymore. I want it back! And I don’t care how we do it. Like the woman who stabbed her husband 37 times, I have to admire her restraint.

I was amused when a country club once informed me – in so many words – that I couldn’t join its registry. It has always been ludicrous. Consider that Groucho Marx was once told in southern California that he and … Continue reading
